Skill #1: Handwashing (at a real sink, using soap and water)

- Remove watch, or push it up on your forearm, roll up sleeves.
- Turn on water adjust temperature.
- Wet hands and wrists. Apply soap.
- Keep hands lower than elbows. Rub hands together to make a bubbly lather.
- Re-wet hands/wrists and re-apply soap as needed.
- Wash hands, fingers, and wrists for about 15 seconds (not under the water).
- Rinse hands and wrists (avoid splashing), keep hands lower than elbows.
- Let hands drip; reach for paper towels.
- Dry hands and wrists thoroughly (from fingertips to wrist). Discard towels.
- Use a new clean paper towel to turn off the faucet.
- Discard paper towel.
